Cheap Thrill
Did something rather exciting today.. though some of you might think its nothing..
We actually had a "Durians Party" in the boutique!!
The craving came from this small bowl of durian puree our colleague had given each of us.. (She got married last sat, and because all of us were working, we missed her wedding ceromany, and she decided to pack us some nice berayni and dessert)
Anyway, Janice and Nani was given the task of getting the durians, and they were given a $10 budget..
They came back, the first thing they asked:
Nani: "Ju, guess how many boxes of durians we bought!"
Me: "Erm, 5?" (looking at the pleased look of their faces, one cld easily guess they had gotten quite a good deal)
Janice: "And its only $9.90! and they are D24!"
Omg, thats cheap right!!
Janice got to go back to her shop, hence we decided for the party to start at 7.30pm.
At 7.28pm, I got Nani to call Jancie to the shop..
Upon entering, Jancie exclaimed: "I can smell from outside!"
We started of the first 2 boxes in the pantry area, then later Nani was thinking out loud, cant we have it at the counter.. And you guessed it, we went there..
3 girls in black, seating at the counter, directly facing the door..
Each time someone walks near the door, near our corrider, you see 3 "idiots" bending and hiding under the counter.. Laughing and laughing, come to think, we were quite lucky that none of us choke on the seed..
Then once a while, 1 of them wld be dancing around the shop, one hand holding on the the durian, one hand spraying air freshener..
This goes on repeating till we finished our 5 boxes of durians..
Towards the end, I asked them a question:
"Do you think I will be doing all these with you girls, if I am still in the management level"
"Yesh Ju, you are the CRAZY one!"
I really liked that answer..
Our "cheap thrill" and literally "cheap" + "thrill".. I'm glad we are all crazy
Perhaps, its our special way of saying good bye to Janice, our way of congratulating her..
